Move over Era’s tour - the Goose is LOOSE.  A knee-bending, head bobbing crowd happily bouncing along to the peachy-sweet pipes of lead guitarist and vocalist Rick Mitarotonda. Harmony? More like har-money, cause these gooey vibes are money in the bank.

But the real stars of the show proved quickly to be a family of four mallards scouring the mudflats alongside the venue.  As the pads of their feet smack against a mix of mud and microplastics, our attention wanders to the impacts of climate change on our feathered friends, and the ceaseless search for food that now claims countless lives of earths beautiful creatures as a result.

But never mind the ducks, we came for Goose and I am left to wonder - why does one come to see a jam band?

Is it to escape the realities of life amongst a cloud of haze and relentless melodies that play as perfect background music to your brain contemplating the universe?

If so then Goose is killing it. As someone who isn’t a fan of the jam, I definitely found myself closing my eyes and swaying along with the rest of the sold out crowd at Thompson’s Point.
